ReVoice! proudly presents Argentinian vocalist and composer, Sofia Rei, following her debut in 2012 with John Zorn’s a capella group, Mycale. A passionate, charismatic and inventive artist, Sofia “has been embraced by … audiences from Carnegie Hall to the hippest downtown haunts” according to the New York Times. Her rich, complex but always uplifting music explores connections between traditional South American folklore (Argentinian, Afro-Peruvian/Uruguayan and Colombian) and jazz and electronic sounds. She has collaborated with Lionel Loueke, Bobby McFerrin, Maria Schneider and most recently at the Barbican, London’s Zorn@60 extravaganza. She plays from her latest album, De Tierra Y Oro, winner of two Independent Music Awards.
“all the studious consideration of Bill Evans and the subtle intensity of Esbjorn Svensson… a modern master” – Northern Sky Music Magazine
Italian composer, pianist and accordionist, Maurizio Minardi, has released 9 studio albums and performed with Antonio Forcione, Paolo Fresu, Enrico Rava, the Royal Shakespeare Company and Brandon Allen. Tonight he and Georgia debut a set of Italian songs.
