“Tina May is that great rarity: a singer who enhances a song” – The Observer
“[Pieranunzi] is a luminously lyrical pianist, with a constant flow of ideas… His music sings” – Nat Hentoff
World premiere of a brand new collaboration between one of the UK and Europe’s most loved jazz vocalists, Tina May, and virtuoso Italian pianist/composer, Enrico Pieranunzi.
Tina’s work includes: Kenny Clark, Tony Coe, Rory Bremner and Humphrey Lyttleton; festival and theatre appearances worldwide and her much acclaimed Edith Piaf tribute. Enrico has recorded 17 albums under his name and played with Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, Marc Johnson, Chris Potter and Charlie Haden. His hauntingly beautiful and romantic melodies are now perfectly complemented by new lyrics from Tina, herself a respected and published lyricist (Ray Bryant, Kenny Wheeler, Bobby Watson).
They are joined by bassist, Geoff Gascoyne (Jamie Cullum, Dianne Reeves, Mulgrew Miller) and drummer, Enzo Zirilli (Tom Harrell, Dado Moroni, Jack DeJohnette).
“chops that would turn any bassist green with envy…. perfect articulation, perfectly pitched” – Listomania Bath
Virtuoso bassist and guitarist, Dave Chamberlain, studied with Pierre Boussaguet, an alumnus of Ray Brown. Credits include Stacey Kent, Harry Allen and John Wilson. Dave and Georgia debut gems from the Great American Songbook and more.
